    Clients will be collected at Hotel to start a full day tour of Pamplona and the crossing of the Pyrenees

    Visit the Running of The Bulls city through the eyes of Hemingway and then get ready for a big mountain crosssing with spectacular views! Our last stop, is the first step for all the pilgrims starting the Way of St James in Saint Jean Pied de Port.

    We will explore the city from the famous festival of the RUNNING OF THE BULLS . Its heritage and monuments, and various celebrations taking place throughout the year,m makes this city to become a recipient of national and international tourism. Internationally renowned San Fermin festival and its running of the bulls, filling the streets of thousands of foreigners coming from all over the world. Festivities begin with the launch of chupinazo (shuttle) from the balcony of City Hall at noon on July 6 and end at midnight on the night of July 14 with the “Poor me”, a farewell song . His worldwide fame is a recent phenomenon, linked also to the publicity given by Ernest Hemingway.

    Otxabagia mountain village. In our way to the Pyrennees we will stop in this small mountain village for lunch and we will have time for a stroll through charming cobbblestone streets

    Crossing the Pyrennes
    The crossing is spectacular. A winding way that leaves from Otxagabia will take us to the top of Mount Larrau, where we will enter in France. We will drive down all the way, avoiding road-crossing sheep and cattle and we will head up again to the forest of Irati.

    Saint Jean Pied de Port
    The town was once a part of the Spanish province of Navarra and the Basque language is still spoken on both sides of the border and they still share similar traditions.The town has traditionally been an important point on the Way of St. James, the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, as it stands at the base of the Roncevaus Pass across the Pyrenees.

  • 7th day Tour of Basque Country Coast from San Sebastian

    Pick up at your Hotel at 09:30 hrs. Explore the rural Basque countryside and charming coastal villages, all in one day!

    Mount Ernio.Driving near to the summit of this rocky mountain, we will make a short walk out in the fields to admire both, the inland green valleys, and the Atlantic ocean.

    Sanctuary of loiola.An impressive religious monument, built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries around the Casa Torre is the birthplace of the founder of the Jesuites, St. Ignatius of Loyola.

    Mount izarraitz. Drive through narrow mountain roads, villages, sheep and cows … we will discover the essence of the Basque Country! Stop at the foothills of Mount Izarraitz to have beautiful views of the mountainous interior as well as the coastline.

    Coastal cliffs in zumaia .The place where the green mountains, suddenly meet the Atlantic Ocean! Take a walk of 30 minutes for a nice spot to discover an amazing place! At this point of the coast, the mountains drop steeply to sea level, with wonderful views and let us look at the raw rock formations formed over millions of years.

    Basque fishing village, getaria. The charming little fishing village of Getaria. Home of Juan Sebastian Elcano (Getaria 1487-1526) the man who was first to sail around the world. It is probably one of the most treasured medieval centers which best reflects the passing of time.
