Full day excursion to the Priorat (2 hours from Barcelona). After a century of silence, these quiet, hidden villages have become sites along a route for those with a keen interest in wine.
Clients will be collected at the Barcelona accommodation at 08:45 to travel to the Priorat wine region. Cellars are located in different small towns as Gratallops, Poboleda, Villela Baixa Porrera… Gratallops, considered the Priorat´s wine Cathedral, is where we can find four of the most important and renowned wineries in the Priorat region. Although the Priorat wines have been produced for centuries, it is only recently in the past decade or so, that these have taken a quantitative leap in quality that now puts them on the forefront of Spanish wines. This revolution has been taking place mainly by these visionaries winemakers: Clos de l´Obac (from Carles Pastrana), Daphne Glorian (Clos Erasmus), Clos Mogador from René Barbier, Alvaro Palacios and Jose Luís Pérez from Clos Martinet.
We will visit two renowned wineries in Gratallops/Poboleda/Villela Baixa where we will enjoy a visit and private tasting led by oenologists from the house. After that we will enjoy a tasting lunch in an intriguing restaurant in Gratallops (Clos Figueras). After lunch our return to Barcelona is scheduled around 5:00 pm.
Possible wineries visited depending on availability: Clos de l´Obac, Clos Mogador* ( supplement), Celler Joan Simo, Cims de Porrera, Clos Figueras, Buil & Giné, Mas martinet* ( supplement) and Mas Pasanau.
